Hello, I have been using IReal for many years, first on my smartphone and tablet, and in the last two years I have been using it on my laptop with Linux Mint. For a long time I have been using Real Pro under the virtual environment with the Waydroid emulator without any problems, but after installing the latest update of iReal a few weeks ago it stopped working with waydroid. Since then I have been trying many combinations until I got it to work correctly on my laptop with Linux Mint Zara. I will explain how I did it.
Since I could not get it to work with Waydroid I chose to install Genymotion and create a virtual machine to my liking, but the virtual machine would not start in the normal Linux Mint environment either, so I close the session and tried to open in the experimental Wayland environment and here it started to work better.
But I had to continue experimenting and adjust the Genymotion configuration a lot. With VirtualBox it didn't run well enough, it was slow and I switched to the Qemu Hypervisor and it works perfectly. I also had to configure my virtual machine with an older version of Android since I don't have many resources on my laptop and Ireal didn't run well either, so I configured the virtual machine with Android 9 and now everything works correctly. I only use Ireal Pro and Whatssap to share the songs that we edit.
So in summary, for the latest version of Ireal Pro to work for me with Linux Mint Zara:
- Log in to the experimental Wayland environment (Brave browser doesn't work)
- Install Genymotion.
- Choose Qemu Hypervisor
- Create a virtual machine with RAM and Cores according to the resources of your PC
- Install Android 9 (in my case). Maybe with a better computer it works with a higher version.
- Install GAPPS to be able to install IReal from Google.
I hope this works for you as you have the same problem as me with Linux Mint Zara and the latest version of iReal Pro
If you have any questions you can ask me, I will try to help you if I can.
Cheers
Jordi
