The chords from the Fake Jazz book, and do not match the version in the 1300 list. Could someone review both to determine if this version should replace the 1300 one?

Thanks

Thanks for starting the discussion thread for this tune.
It's helpful to add a "code" after the title on the chart to make it easier to identify the different versions in your song library.
If you mean "Jazz Fake Book" then add "jfb".
Like this:
For Sentimental Reasons jfb - William Best

Also, The player treats the "V" rehearsal mark the same as the "IN" mark: play it once at the beginning.(Jazz verse)
Use the A mark instead.
Your version is written to play exactly twice through the form using 1st/2nd endings. IRp prefers to use a coda for the final repeat and set the number of form repeats (for solos?) in the player.
The above chart includes these revisions.

If only one version was "correct", there'd be no jazz.

Thanks for sharing the jfb chart.

You could use either set of chords. The version in the 1300 contains alternate chords. The Jazz Fake Book has the "doo-wop" version. LOL!

Thanks for the revisions Bob!

I’ve been learning Nat King Cole’s version (transposed to Db-). Is that considered the Do Wop version? Or, is there another recording that I should listen to that is considered the standard melody and chords for this tune?

Thanks for the corrections and clarification. It’s ok to delete this thread. I don’t want to add an incorrect chart to the online repository.

The "doo wop" version would be the one with the I - VI - IV or ii - V chords.
