What is best practice to delete unwanted playlists, w/o losing songs from library?

I have too many vestigial playlists that are no longer needed.
What is best practice to delete unwanted playlists, without losing the songs from my library?

As you "delete" a playlist you are presented with a choice:
- Only delete (remove) the playlist or....
- Move all songs to trash (which will also delete them from your library and any other playlists too)

Choose wisely...

I didn't remember I would have that option.... and other posts about "deleting playlists" described many unintended loses while trying to "tidy up".
