Piano volume won't turn down in logic X Pro

Hi everyone,
I have a problem that I keep noticing and wondered if anyone is experiencing the same issue. I have imported my midi file into logic pro x from irealpro.
When I try to turn the piano volume down with the automation, the piano turns down ok but when i stop and restart the track, the volume of the piano turns back up (even though the automation hasn't moved). I can do this numerous times and it keeps happening.

Is there a solution please.
I am running Mac Studio Apple M2/ 64GB on Sonoma 14.1.2 and Logic version 10.8.0

Does deleting the volume at the beginning of the track in the event list work?
