Hi, I just installed this useful mobile application and have a simple question. Is there a possibility for user to optionally add melody track to provided chords progression? I understand distribution copyright issues, hovewer I do not speak about distribution with melody, I`m speaking about optional user possibility to do this. This might be very useful sometimes. I searched for similar questions on forum and did not find anything.

If your question relates to notation of the melody:
there is no facility inside iReal Pro to add melody (notation) currently.

You should be able to easily use the android app, Mobilesheets which will import (PDF, JPEG, photos from your device's camera, etc.) your notation files. iReal Pro will play in the background. Any recent tablet should have enough processing power to do this. If you have a small phone screen, reading notation will be difficult unless you are projecting to a larger display; a 10 or 13 inch tablet seem to be popular for notation.
Mobilesheets can attach an audio track to the song sheet (iReal Pro can create an audio file from its songs.)

Run a search for Mobilesheets here at the forum for any other comments. Also iPad users use forscore app (and others) in a variety of ways, so although it is iOS-related, searching for threads about this app might give you background information.

Yes, i know some solutions. However they are not as straightforward as optional notation track in ireal pro could be. BTW, this might be not the melody only track, but scored improvisation track, for example. User might use it upon his requirements. Why not to deliver fun to your customers?

I guess one problem if that option was offered is that any charts produced with melodies could not be uploaded to the forum or the export to forum option would need to strip out the melody.

Why not? Initial download jazz/latin/etc sets may still come with empty melody track, whereas users may score in their impro and share it with others. I do not see any copyright problems with this.

I would like to have melody to practice to as I'm a backline player. This would make the use of Irealpro less boring to use.
