Hi everyone.

I am new to the forum. I am studying the tenor saxophone for about one year and Love jazz. I also got the I real book and am loving it, it helps a lot to learn, but unfortunately it does not have one of my favorite tunes, Maybe September by Stanley Turrentine. Does anyone have the music sheet and the playback?
If you do not know this tune check here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_DgB5C7flE

The sound of his tenor is the voice of God!

thanks

That is a lovely track, not so easy to play a ballad that slow. I think I have the CD somewhere, I will have to look it out.

S Turrentine

Hi Diatonic, thanks for the help but I do not know IF this is the music. I AM new to playing and the original recording sounds different. So i do not know IF this is the tune.

Hi Gifford H, the tune seems to be easy to play, that’s why I’m looking for it... the youtube link I posted is actually very good and from the CD.

Thanks a lot for your interest and help

Regards

Thanks guys, for this tune. I was not familiar with it before. I love it!

I like yours a lot, Ray — especially that Db∆9#11 turnaround.

I wrote my own version of it, which takes a few liberties with the harmony. It's in A minor rather than G minor, but that's easily changed in iReal Pro.

Maybe September-Rev JE - Percy Faith

Cheers,
Jer
