Little Lamb - Jule Styne

Little Lamb is an often overlooked little gem from Jule Styne's Gypsy.

This is my own, more jazz-oriented, arrangement of it. The melody can be found in The Ultimate Broadway Fake Book.

Hi Jer,

This is a great tune. I noted that you just posted an arrangement of "Little Lamb," also from Gypsy. Jule Styne was a great songwriter. I like your chart--it is more suitable than mine for a melody instrumentalist or singer who needs a fuller arrangement.

You're missing beautiful fall weather here in the northeast!

Thanks, Keith.

Little Lamb is a lovely little tune that no one sings, possibly because it's so simple, which is why I jazzed it up a bit.

Ah, yes, well I know Northeast weather, having grown up in New York. Happy to say I don't miss it. In winter here, daytime temperatures are rarely below 50 and usually warmer. Right now it's cloudy and 61, but if the sun comes out it'll climb into the mid-70s.

I do miss the leaves turning. At 7000 feet here all the trees are evergreens.

Cheers,
Jer

Whoops! I meant to post my message above to the "Small World" thread. I remember the Mathis version very well from our teenage years.

You did Keith. I moved the discussion here because except for "great tune", the discussion related to LittleLamb
Sorry for the confusion.
