How to post songs to the Forums

Search before you post
If the song is already posted, add your version as a reply to the discussion thread for that song.

You can post songs you've created on the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch from within iReal Pro:
- While viewing the song press the Share button (the same used for sending the song via email)
- Select: Share Chord Chart/Forums
- Log in to the Forum
- Choose the appropriate category
- Choose '+ New Thread' if the song is not already in the forums or choose the thread named after the song if you are offering an improvement to an existing one
- Put the song title as the subject of the thread. (add the composer if appropriate)
- The song has been automatically added to the clipboard so you can paste it into the body of the post.
- Add any comments if necessary
- Click on Submit

(to post a whole playlist follow the same steps but find the send to forums button in the playlist section)

If you are on the Mac version, you can also post songs from the app:
- When done editing the song, click on File/Share/Song to Forums in the top menu
- Your default browser should open at forums.irealpro.com
- Login to the Forum
- Choose the appropriate category
- Choose Post New Thread if the song is not already in the forums or choose the thread named after the song if you are offering an improvement to an existing one
- Put the song title as the subject of the thread. (add the composer if appropriate)
- The song has been automatically added to the clipboard so you can paste it into the body of the post

How to append songs to an existing post

You need to have installed iReal Book Editor for Mac version 0.4 or higher.

1. Open the Mac editor
(if it is already open, close any tunes you do not want to add to the composite list, as it adds all open tunes)
2. Open your tune(s) you want to add to this specific post
3. In the forum, find the relevant post you are adding to and click on the tune(s) link; (all the tunes contained in that link will open into Mac editor individually. They come in all with the file name "untitled" but ignore this)
4. Click on All Songs to Forums; (this gathers all open tunes into the clipboard for pasting as one composite)
5. Enter the composer (or band) name when it asks for a Playlist name, press OK
6. either click Open Forums button; then navigate to the relevant post again; or click Cancel, and return to the relevant post...(the forum—topic page is probably still open)
7. Post Reply for the thread you are appending to
8. Click in the text area, Paste then Submit. The (play)list will automatically be generated at the bottom with all the names of the tunes contained therein.
9. To close all the tunes in Mac editor, press command-option-w (if you had not saved your own tune(s) it will ask you to save/name them in irb format as a normal computer file) but the forum "untitled" tunes will disappear.

How do I upload song or playlists to the forums?

You need to be registered and logged into the forums.
Press the share button on the top right from a song or a playlist and choose Share Chord Chart/ Forums. (on Android, choose Post to Forums)
Paste the content of the clipboard into a post in the related Forum.

There are detailed instructions inside the app in Settings - Tutorials, Help & Support.
(You can also select the "?" in a circle at the top of an app page)
