I have similar issues .
One of the reasons I prefer the Mac version is it has a *recently played* feature in Songs.
If IOS had this you'd be able to just find the last 100 songs you had looked at.
I find this incredibly useful in teaching when I have to find an exercise that We used last week.
Exercise and practice charts don't always have memorable names.

Attach a style and tempo to a chord chart
I know that iReal Pro was developed as a practice aid, but many of us use it for performance. For this use, it is essential that the style and tempo for a particular chord chart not easily be changed. I use an iPad Mini, and because of the small screen, it is easy to unintentionally change the style and tempo while turning a page or just touching the screen. It would be great if there were a way for a user to permanently (better: semi-permanently) attach a style and tempo to a chart. In that way, once these are set, they stay set.
An alternative suggestion is to have a text field attached to a chart (like the fields for title, composer, style and key in the info section) where the user could designate tempo so that if it got changed, the user could easily reset it back to the desired setting.
I don't know if others have this problem--I suspect I'm not alone in finding that after having carefully selected a style and tempo, one or both get changed and I can't remember exactly what I originally chose. I'd like to hear whether or not other users also have this problem.

Once I know the key of a song for the band or singer, I duplicate, change key in song info so it is their default key, re-title with a suffix for the band ('Rose Room BN' or whatever) and add it to their playlist. Then being a separate playlist, I can restore from its own backup at any time if I think anything has altered and it does not affect any other playlist.
Also, since it is duplicated, I can add text for their performance, tempo or feel they require, rubato, specific intro, form etc. Obviously if you are using the player, you can add the style and BPM in text at the top and check this before play.

I understand the idea, dflat; one could include the style and tempo in the title or composer field (as well as the key for a singer). Unfortunately, this would still permit the style and tempo to be easily changed, although it would provide an easy reference to change them back. It is something to think about.

Sorry, Keith. I use iRP on live gigs constantly and I can't remember one single instance where I accidentally changed the key, tempo or style (and I'm using an iPod - talk about a small screen!). However, I frequently make such changes on purpose and I don't consider it "unfortunate" to be able to do this quickly and easily. But if it's causing you consistent problems, you can always use the current text ability to insert reminders anywhere on your charts.

I think I have determined the cause of the problem I'm having with style changes…
Suppose a chord chart is edited and the style in the info box is changed and the edit is saved. If the performance style for the chart is different from the new style in the info box, then iRP changes the performance style to match it. When this happens, the tempo often changes, as well. I've experimented on charts and this seems to always happen with incompatible styles (not all are incompatible). For example, change the style in the info box from Ballad to Cha Cha and the performance style will be changed to Latin - Cuba: Cha-Cha-Cha after the edit is saved.
I'm glad I discovered the problem: with Halloween coming, I was afraid my iPad is haunted!

Hiya, in the latest version when I want to play back with bass only the first beat gets a hit from the drums. Could this be fixed please? Thank you.

What I really miss that one can't modify the meter of a song temporarily just like the key without modifying the song itself.
To modify a song for example from 4/4 to 7/8 many touches are needed and after you are finished the same procedure is necessary to reset to the old meter. If I want to go from 4/4 to 7/4 it will be even more complicated, then I have to delete every second |-measure-delimiter! A solution for this is a half-time mode, where 2 measures become one. Of course a double-, triple- or third-time mode could be useful too.
All this is because of the excellent support for odd meters, for which I would like to thank too!

Back in February of 2013, I requested a new style for ballads that played the interior choruses in double-time. You came through with the Jazz - Ballad Double Time Feel style and thank you very much for that. I would now request an enhancement to this style: the ability to designate a section (perhaps section D) in the form that is also played in double-time during the first and last choruses.
I have a reason for making this request. There are tunes in which the chord changes for improvised solo choruses are different from the changes that best fit the melody. In the case of a ballad, where one would like to use these different solo changes and play them in double-time, presently there is no way to program a chord chart to accomplish this. However, by judicious editing, one could fit changes for a the melody chorus and for the solo chorus on one page; if one could designate the solo chorus as section D, then the enhanced style could play the melody chorus at regular time and the solo chorus in double-time. Using a text designation (eg, 3x, 4x, etc) and repeat signs, the solo chorus could be programmed to repeat a set number of times and then return to the melody chorus to end the tune.
I'm currently working on such a chord chart that I'll submit to the forum for comments. The solo chorus presently won't play in double-time but will have different changes from the melody section.

I don't get it. I don't seem to have any problem entering text without barlines. I do it a lot. (See below.) Did this just become available with the latest update, maybe?

Since all charts are key-labile, any chart can be instantly transposed to any key, and the key isn't fixed, i'm not sure what a key signature sort would accomplish.
You could already set this up for personal use by including your preferred key for a chart IN THE TITLE.
Then a keyword search of your song index would instantly list all songs labeled ”Eb" no matter what key the chart might have been transposed to.
It would be helpful if there were a searchable "tag" field on each chart other than just the title.
A way for users to attach multiple user-tags or keywords to individual songs in the index would be very useful.
The tags for a song might be entered (and displayed) ONLY in the song editor, perhaps as a second (hidden) line in the title field. The tag/keyword line would not display on the chart in song view, but still might be searchable using the current song index (title) search field.
Without needing to maintain many separate playlists, a user could instantly, using the index search, bring-up all charts they've tagged as Sinatra, Cole, Como, Beatles, wedding, holiday, 1940's, a vocalist(s) or band(s) they perform with, or any other keyword(s) they chose to attach...*
Currently, users append personal notes in the title which is quite cumbersome.
