Difference between direct download and Mac App Store versions?

Is there a difference between the Mac version that can be downloaded directly from this website and the version in the Mac App Store?

Is seems the direct version is more expensive, so I'm wondering why that is. Also, what is the price of the Blues and Salsa add ons if I buy iReal for Mac directly from the website?

They are the same and the price is the same as well.
Probably Apple only shows the taxes when you check out.
