Danny Boy - Reharm

This arrangement in in Swing Two/Four.

Sorry that the chords are all scrunched up in the head, but it was the only way I could fit it all in.

After the head in two, there are two choruses of swing solos, and then the head plays again.

August 2017: Discovered errors in playback. See post #10 below for the corrected file.

Hey Jer,
Another great reharm!

I revised your chart (without altering any of your chords) to un-compress the head so it's easier for me to follow (with all dem slash-chords) and then I compressed the solo choruses section which, I think, remains quite readable.

Then just for fun, using Jack's 13th system trick,
https://forums.irealpro.com/threads/How-to-add-a-13th-line-(system)-to-a-chord-chart.8449/
I added a tag to the coda.
(just 'cause I hear it that-a-way)

Danny Boy Rev 2 - Traditional

Whatcha think?

Bob,

Yes, indeed. That's a lot more readable.

I'll have to try that 13th system trick.

¡Muchas gracias!

Cheers,
Jer

How embarrassing. After two years, yannleo2's post made me look back at my arrangement above and Bob's admirable revision of same, only to discover that neither played back properly after the first solo.

Consequently, herewith is posted Bob's revised version of my arrangement, further revised by me to play back correctly. My apologies to anyone who downloaded the previous versions and found them unplayable.

Danny Boy-Rev JE 3 - Traditional

Cheers,
Jer

P.S. Bob, by changing the first and second endings on the head I was able to keep your Coda while reducing the chart from 13 lines to 12.

Jer, that's a really nice chart and arrangement!
I just read most of my charts. The player function sometimes slips by untested.

Your indirect resolution(s) are really tasty.

I like that the *process* of the evolution of many of the charts remains documented instead of old simply being replaced with revised. I think it's both instructive and helpful. New users continue to join daily.

Bob,

Thanks, as always, for the kind words.

Excellent news that new people are joining.

The backing track does not agree with the sheet music for tenor sax. Have transposition set to Bb but cannot get it any of the available keys to agree. Help.
