Canadian Sunset - Eddie Heywood-Norman Gimbel

Thanks - the chart needs repeats in empty bars to be playable, but I needed this for th gig and - there it was. Appreciate it...

Here's the arrangement I did for my restaurant gig. My settings are Medium Swing at 112. (Sorry the chart's a little too squeezy for reading, but I had to make it fit on my iPod.)

Canadian Sunset - Eddie Heywood - Arrangement

This is an arrangement of Canadian Sunset that tries to approximate the original on the head, but have a jazz feel on the solos.

It's impossible to notate in iReal Pro the bass ostinato that is the trademark sound of this tune, so I have only suggested it. Pianists can play the ostinato in the left hand over what I've laid down. You can hear it on the original:

The tune is in Swing Two-Four. It's in two whenever the bass plays the ostinato, in four on the rest of the head, and in four on the solos.

I find this a lot of fun to play.

Cheers,

Please review the guidelines for posting charts:
https://forums.irealpro.com/threads/Guidelines-for-sharing-songs-and-playlists.22105/

Always remember to include correct composer info on charts posted in the forums.
https://forums.irealpro.com/threads/Composer-information.14683/

You may include your name as transcriber/arranger on the chart using text (not in the composer field), and/or append your initials to the title.

Often the performer is not the composer.
You may include the performer (version) with the song title.

Please use correct iRp chart-info format.
Example:
All Of Me (Sinatra) - Gerald Marx
...title......(version) - composer(s)

Please correct your chart and repost.
