i'm using a karaoke app to practice my singing, the quality is not great.

so i'm wondering if there are songs on the ireal pro app for ipad to sing along with the lyrics showing.??

cheers

iReal pro was not designed as a karaoke app. Karaoke uses specific arrangements and orchestration that try to copy popular songs by well known artists ... Except without vocals. The tunes include the expected instruments, voicings and "licks".

iReal pro is a wonderful app for singers. It plays spontaneously generated accompaniment in your chosen style, tempo and key to your chosen chord progression. You can select from a menu of instruments.

iReal pro is for singers that aren't trying to exactly copy someone else's version, but rather want to make songs "their own".
In addition to practice, there are many singers that use iReal pro in live performance.

The lyrics would never fit, and besides even if they did, they'd be too small to read.
99.9% of lyrics are online now, so you can just do a search for the lyric, and then sing along with your iPad. I assume you're only singing, so you won't need to see the chord charts.

Hello. I am new to iReal PRO But I have an opinion on this.

I have discovered that if I type in chord progressions/charts for a song I am practicing on the guitar, then the correct bpm, and find a usable style: THEN iReal Pro becomes a WONDERFUL way to learn and practice the lyrics even though they are NOT displayed on the screen. You have to "kind of" know them already. But it is like magic.

Even though the iReal Pro style does not totally match the original artist, if it is similar then I can actually almost "hear" the original in my head. Kind of a "fill in the blanks" done automatically by our brains. I have discovered that I actually "know" the lyrics for a lot of songs which I do not specifically remember if try to sing the song "dry". with no chord progression.

I think this is one of the "BIG SECRETS" of musicians. I have often asked: "How do you remember the lyrics for all those songs". And usually they don't really know exactly how they did it. But now I believe that if you learn the chord progression well enough to play it with acceptable timing then lyrics just pop into your head. Very cool.
