A Minor Variation - Billie Joel

Hey everyone, I still can't seem to wrap my brains around the jumps and repeats. To be close to the original version of this blues piece it would need to be played in the following order: in, A |: V, B, C, A :||: D, V, B, C, A :| A, A, … Any way I can accomplish this? A Minor Variation -...

I asked for a Blues - James Morisson

Hi Folks, I am trying to encode a blues theme by James Morisson called "I asked for a blues" But I run in two difficulties: 1. Readability - I can't seem make both the chart readable for the player and a reading musician (complex chord go one over the other, or I get more beats than I need) 2...

Blues (Trane Changes) - Joe Hubbard

This is a standard Jazz Blues with added 'Coltrane' substitutions that make a really hip sounding line with dominant descending thirds over the first four bars. I've moved the traditional changes up to the alternate chord area so you can still have them for reference. From a No Treble post by...

Sweet Jazz Blues - Exercise without a Dom7 as the 1 chord

Sweet Jazz Blues - Jazz Blues without a Dom7 as the 1 chord. I couldn't find a blues on the forums that didn't have the 1 chord as a Dom7. After I posted this the first time I realised there was an error. I had forgotten to change one of the C7 chords. Now fixed. As I said before, I couldn't...

West End Blues - Joe “King” Oliver

West End Blues - Joe “King” Oliver West End Blues - Louis Armsstrong This chart combines a normal blues and a jazz blues chord progression. I recommend setting the repeat to only one time with how I set this up (mostly due to the repeat at the end of the head out). A Section: Normal...

    Less jazzy blues style?

Love the app. Are there any plans afoot to release new play-styles? I know that this was created firmly with jazz in mind but it's the perfect tool for blues improvising. The jazzy swings are just a bit well, (with respect) too jazzy. Come on, get back to your roots :)
