Real Drums-sound issue

I’ve been using iReal for over 10 years and love it. I was doing a recording project ffor the last several months and came back recently. The update to “Real Drums” or “MIDI” drums has thrown me. Not sure if its just a setting I cant fix, but the “Real” drums have real phase type issues and bathed in reverb even if the mixer is set to off. I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling to no avail. Is it me?

The real drums are recorded loops of a professional drummer and if you try to time stretch audio to a much slower tempo than it was recorded you'll hear some audio artifacts. There is an update available now (2025.10.1) that addresses this by automatically switching back to MIDI drums if you try to play a style at a tempo much slower than its default tempo.
You can always switch to always use MIDI drums for any of the Jazz styles and it will be saved for the next time or other song you play with that style.

I am struggling with the real drums. They lag at the end of every eight bars just slightly, just enough to make your stomach drop. I had high hopes but I have switched back to the midi drums. I reached out to the company and they suggested that it was my Wi-Fi or having too old of a device which doesn't even make sense. I have a new device, great Wi-Fi and that wouldn't make the drums lag at the end of every 8th bar lol.

@GeorgiaBass sorry to hear. I don't know what device and what OS you're on, but we've been struggling with Real Drums on some Xiaomi and Lenovo devices with Android 10 or 11 where there would be small gaps every 2 or 4 bars in the drums audio track. I have not been able to reproduce this issues on any of my devices and therefore I have not been able to try and fix it. To those people unfortunately I have been forced to recommend to switch to MIDI drums, but luckily it's been rare. Some other people (also on Xiaomi devices) have had issues with the real drums suddenly stopping after a few bars leaving the piano and bass tracks playing alone. I have been able to find a fix for this in the last couple of days and I'm testing a beta build now. Does your problem fall into one of these two categories? If not, send me a DM here and we can try some other steps.
