Hi,
First, thanks for the great app !!
I wanted to practice my phrygian scale and when trying to make a playback I didn't find the m7b9 chord in the pop up list (when I type it, it is not recognized)
I guess I missed something because its a usual chord, but I dont see an other way to write it and as the 7b9 chord is there, I don't see why the m7b9 is not
any clue ?

do you mean 7b9sus?
(it has the minor 3rd in the scale and typically associated with Phrygian)

it's not exactly the same as you omit the third and use the fourth instead of having the regular 1 b3 5 b7 b9 (if I'm not wrong ) but you're right, I can use 7b9sus to practice phrygian.
Thanks
Etienne

Hello Etienne
my reference for the b3 was as part of the scale, but yes the voicing for the chord would have the sus 4.

Phryg chords in iReal?

Hi,
Does anybody have an idea how to get a Phryg chord in iReal Pro (after The Jazz Piano Book by Mark Levine)?

Phryg.png

Gb7/Eb does not give the result I am expecting here :(
I tried multiple ways how to do it but failed (iReal does not recognize the symbols I enter).

Thanks in advance for your help.

Marek

See if Eb7b9sus will work for you. It's recognized by the player.
:))BOB
It is the closest one from all I found so far, but still instead of Db I need Eb to sound right.
Thanks anyway :)

P.S. Is the chord list recognizable by the app ever being updated in new versions? Are the new chord requests read and responded by the app authors?
