Tuning...
The ability to change to tuning of a score e.g. 1/2 flat.

No plans currently.

iOS only

Once we build in Audiobus support you should be able to put it through a pitch changer in the filter. Half a step (semitone) will probably not distort the drums too much.

If you use Amplitube (or similar) it can take an audio file (you can export audio from iReal b) and re-pitch it.

3
It might be possible to use Background audio and feed your guitar (if it is an electric) through an app with a pitch pedal taking it up a half step (semitone.)
Wear headphones and you will need iRig or similar to connect your guitar.

Also android:

You can currently use a pitch changer (pedal etc.) on the audio output of your device that runs iReal b.

There is some information on background audio here:

Thanks for your idea.

URGENT: You can't play a transposing instrument along with the midi playback!!!!!

I am really disappointed that by changing the key signature of the chord chart so that my instrument (Bb Tenor Saxophone) is in the right key, the MIDI playback then reads the chords from the chart in concert pitch; resulting in me either following the chords and playing a tone above the MIDI playback or having to attempt to convert the chords in my head on the fly (for Giant Steps that's not desirable:().

If there is a function already set up to solve this issue please can someone let me know? If not then this is an absolute imperative function. Frankly I can't believe:eek: that no one has mentioned this before and so I'm optimistic that there is already some way round this egregious fault.

Thanks,
Jonny H

Hello Jonny,
You probably have not set global transpose to Bb for your tenor. Tap the Hub icon at the bottom (looks like a star) then Settings>Transposing instrument>Bb.
For a song chart, transpose to the concert key you require (top right) and your chart will be in your Bb key.

We have support information (manuals, videos etc.) here:

(also there are links in Hub>Help and Support)

But great studying!!!

They have - many posts exist that already addressed this situation.

and so I'm optimistic that there is already some way round this egregious fault.

iReal b has no egregious faults, only egregious solutions and functions!!!! :y:

Enjoy it, man, and happy "Oh..." moment...
Cheers.

Dear jazz drummers, I. am looking for the jazz standard from the famous music piece Black Orpheus. Where can I find this or does somebody have a link for me

Tks in advance

General Volume

Great tool!
I use it on my iphone, playing my guitar through Ampkit (an app simulating a guitar amp), mixing Irealbook music with the Ampkit's signal.
I wish I could vary the IRB volume separately from the general sound from inside the app. I know there's a mixer, but what I miss is a general volume.
Thans for your invaluable app!!!

Not sure if stated already, if so i apologize. Please add a bass clef function to the scales feature, i do not see one, and would buy it immediately if it did.

You can change it to bass clef under Settings/Chord Scales.

Request for new combo rhythm styles

I'm writing to the iReal b for iOS forum: Feature requests thread to suggest a couple of new combo rhythm styles. As the Latin/Swing style demonstrates that iReal b has the capacity to change rhythm styles within tunes, implementing these new styles should be relatively straightforward.

1. On 1-04-2012, a member named thesoundsmith requested a new combo rhythm that played in "two" during the A sections of the first and last choruses, and in "four" during the B sections of the first and last choruses and for all of the middle (= not first or last) choruses. This style would be useful for many tunes; a good example is Duke Ellington's "Just Squeeze Me."

2. I suggest that it would be useful to have a combo rhythm for jazz ballads that plays like the Ballad Swing style on the first and last chorus and plays in double-time for the middle choruses. This would be very useful for practicing double-time solos on slow ballads. In addition, perhaps an additional style would play like the Ballad Swing style on the first and last choruses and the even-number middle choruses and in double-time for the odd-number middle choruses, just for variety and practice in going from straight- to double-time.

I really enjoy iReal b on my iPad mini (a great size to carry around with a screen big enough to easily read and edit songs). Keep up the good work!

The Swing two/four style is coming in the next iOS update (already in Android.) We have other dual styles in mind (and they do take a little while to construct.)
Thanks for your suggestion and support.

Option: Scales on guitar fretboard? Would be very appreciated! A lot of guitar toolkits, jam track apps with only that feature. To have it in real b would be awesome.

How about a Sort button for the Playlist list?
Is it possible to quickly sort the list of playlists alphabetically?

You see, after importing all these playlists and creating new ones I've several pages of them. A Sort button is what I need.

The ability to create folders or sub-lists would be helpful.

Request for
Rumba Clave 2-3 and 3-2
Latin rhythm option.
Thank you very very much for creating this beautiful application.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I would pay extra for that option. : )
