On my iPad (IOS 11.0.1, iRealPro 8.0.2) I create a new song, add it to an existing playlist.
Then I make a backup, taking all defaults, and email it to myself.

On my iPhone (IOS 11.0, iRealPro 8.0.2) I get the email, touch & hold the attachment, choose iRealPro.
An import seems to happen.
The new song gets imported, but the existing playlist is not updated with the song.

Thanks for any advice....Lyle

I don't have the expertise to address the specifics of the issue you describe.

Have you tried the synch that is now available for iOS (and Mac) devices?

I understand that iCloud sync is now part of the latest update. (Which would be required for each device/app)

Go here:
http://irealpro.com/support/support-ios-2/
Search: sync

I suspect in each device('s) settings, iCloud must be enabled and that setting is specific for each app too.

If I understand it correctly, you're not using sync, just transferring a playlist from iPad to iPhone.
In case you import a playlist to the other device, it won't overwrite the existing one but it will import the playlist.
Did the playlist import?
Please email us directly, it's easier to exchange messages there.
Thank you!

P.S.: You can try Bob's suggestion, iCloud Sync.
