Imagine (corrected chorus)

Imagine 1 - John Lennon

Also in the pop rock and Beatles threads there are many incorrect chord progressions. Compare imagine with imagine 1 corrected version. Look at the chorus!

(It's Just) Another Day (qtr 115) - Paul McCartney

I think 115/qtr note might be a little slower than the orig. recording, but it's the tempo that's working for me as I try to play it & sing it (man, he pops off a lot of high G's w/ what sounds like no effort!).

Also, made some of the chords a little richer, mostly in the 3/4 section, just 'cause I liked the way they sounded w/ the player. And, I made a real long coda instead of a 3rd ending, couldn't figure out another way to make the ending work.

Hope you like!

Heart of the Country - Paul McCartney

Actually, hadn't posted this one yet, I was trying to, but got kicked off the wifi at my favorite coffee shop (1/2 hr. limit on wifi during "peak hours"?! Boo!).

Little explanation - the bars that are 3/4 followed by 5/4 are just two bars of 4/4 written that way to trick the player into playing a chord on an off-beat. I discovered this trick while working on "Good Day Sunshine" - you can get the player to play a chord on the "and" of beat 2 by using 3/4, but using 4 spaces for the measure, & putting the chord you want syncopated on the 3rd space of that bar. But, if it's a song that is actually in 4/4, you have to follow the 3/4 bar immed. w/ a 5/4 bar.

Also, all the N.C. bars are for the be-bop-ish melody that Paul plays & sings at that point - McCartney does jazz! (well, almost) AND, just to make things fun for the guitar player/singer, he's actually playing this song in the C chord position w/ the entire guitar tuned down a whole step (std. tuning). Right now, I'm trying it in the key that it's in (Bb), but w/ the capo on the 3rd fret, in the G chord position.

Good Day Sunshine - The Beatles (Lennon, McCartney)

Revision of the one 1st posted on this thread. Changed to A maj., orig. key's just too high to sing for me. Also jazzed up the chords a bit, & doubled the inst. interlude in the middle, to give my flute player buddy a little more to do.

I used that trick I mention above to make the syncopations work better. They still miss the big cymbal crashes from Ringo - what a drummer, how many other pop/rock drummers could've played all the mixed meter stuff that Paul & John kept throwing at him? All You Need Is Love, Strawberry Fields, Good Mornin', ad finitum...

Because (John Lennon and Paul McCartney)

Wow! That was a song that was sorely missing!!!

Excuse me for pointing this out, just trying to be helpful:
There *is* a shorthand symbol for half-diminished (m7b5) - if you scroll the chords wheel UP you'll find this («ø»).
There's also a diminished symbol without the 7, which is not usually needed.
Cheers.

Beatles: I Saw Her Standing There

Accurate chart for John Lennons part. I watched several videos from TV broadcasts to get this right.
That being said this chart is missing the play along for the guitar solo because it was removed from the medley we were using in our show. This is posted in this format for friends to download. I'll update it with solo later. (You may wish to change the A- chord at the end of the Chorus line to A-/c to get the proper C bass note. While George is playing a C John is playing A- giving us a C6 or A-7 feel). Hope that helps.
