101 Jazz Songs For Trumpet - Hal Leonard (Book)

Hi everybody,
I'm a newbie on trumpet and I use the beautiful (and I think quite common) book "101 Jazz songs for trumpet": https://www.halleonard.com/product/146368/101-jazz-songs-for-trumpet
I normally find the tracks in the forum but they're almost always slightly or strongly different from the ones I see in the book. So I tried to edit some of them and would like to load them in this thread: you will recognize them from the tag (hl101t) after the title of the songs.

Gigiprev,
Thanks so much for posting iRp charts for the “101” book.

I’ve made some edits for you to consider.
The charts still have all the essential “101” content but are now more consistent with iRp posting conventions and take advantage of some iRp features.

S and N (Small/Normal chord-font size)
https://forums.irealpro.com/threads/S-amp-N-over-chords-(small-normal-chord-font).8841/
Reduces chord overlapping.

When chords are crowded, use the half-diminished symbol instead of -7b5.

When extended quality chords overlap even when you use the Small font, you can repeat the illegible quality beneath the chord using text. I did that with a 7#5 chord by adding the text #5 underneath just to make it easier for the musician to read.

Invisible END symbol
https://technimo.helpshift.com/hc/en/3-ireal-pro/faq/124-end-symbol/?p=all
An easy way to have the player not play the turnaround the final time.

Using a coda instead of - repeat the whole form once to a 2nd ending.
You can then use the player repeat setting and take the coda only the final time.

Double bars to start and end sections.

Chart Layout Conventions
https://forums.irealpro.com/threads/iReal-b-layout-conventions&p=301.194/#post-301

If there's room on the chart, I find it easier to follow when the final A + 3rd ending is written out as a C section. DC Al 3rd Ending is a great trick when needed but unnecessarily complicated if there's room to write it out. Look at “Nearness 1”.

It's best when iRp charts are flexible and can easily adapt to different users rather than be locked in to a (form plays twice) arrangement.

That said, this post is for your information. You can share charts even if they may not function correctly with the iRp player. No criticism is intended. I realize you are transcribing from someone else's charts.

I'll post the revised charts in the following post.

Thanks again for your work
:))BOB

I made some edits and included the charts in my earlier playlist.
You can compare the charts to see the changes I made.

Thanks for taking on this project (Now 20% done!)
