    Cell color

I’ll bump this zombie thread. Coloring and other annotation would be good for structural elements as mentioned. But it would also help in study and teaching. We could use it to show tonal centers and modulations, for example, or to group ii-V and similar structures.

Tap on chord to show name in other font/system

The Jazz 1350 version of Darktown Strutters Ball still has an old error. Incorrect use of a coda symbol to try to indicate the end position causes the tune to repeat before reaching the last few measures. I’ve edited my own copy and used slightly more standard chords. Do you want my update? If...

    Multiple repeats, again

Just to be sure I understand, am I correct that there is no simple way to create a song with an AABAABC+ coda structure? I'm looking at the dfb Tico Tico and would like to repeat the AAB part before going to the interlude, which is common. We've talked before about a coda that is used every...

    Practice mode tweaks

Thanks, another good suggestion, but not usually practical for my situation because I'm already spending as much time going through each tune's repetitions as I want to, and I usually want to get from fairly slow to quite fast -- say from 90 up to 260. Depends on the tune of course. Anyway, it's...

    Practice mode tweaks

Thanks for the suggestion, which of course would work, but I go through dozens of tunes every week for the various set lists I'm playing from, and so I really don't want to litter up my song list with lots of temporary dups. I have enough titles in there already! So for now I will just deal with...

    Practice mode tweaks

And yet another wish-list item: When using practice mode with speed increase, provide an option to do a count-in before each repeat. It's hard to nail the tempo when it changes.

    Practice mode tweaks

One more really helpful change: display the pending key change somewhere. I often go up major thirds in practice mode, to cover an octave in three hops, but in a quick tune I'm not always quite sure where we're going next. Not so hard to follow circle of fifths but other cycles are less obvious.

    Practice mode tweaks

Oh, and one more thing: toggle practice mode withou clearing the settings. I'd rather leave my normal setup (+10bpm, +5th, 13 repeats, 3 repeats per key change) and just turn practice mode off and on as desired.

    Practice mode tweaks

I wish practice mode would Use a separate repeat count from normal play mode. I always use 13 repeats in practice mode. It would be great if this were stored globally, rather than per-tune. (Also see my earlier wish for a global override for repeat counts.) Let me repeat one or more times...

    Default repeat counts

I seem to recall that we used to be able to set a global repetition count that would affect all tunes unless overridden. I always need to bump up the count. In practice mode I always need to set it to 13. Otherwise 4 or 5 or 6 is what I want. Never the default of 3. Have I missed some way to do...

    Release notes sticky?

It would be helpful if you had a release notes sticky that covers each new version. At this point I've forgotten what new features have crept in over the time I've been using iRealB and there are probably some cool new things that I've been overlooking. I went looking for release notes but...

    Feature requests

Feature: Simplification of charts I'd like the ability to simplify charts by reducing or eliminating substitutions and passing chords -- essentially to bring out the "vanilla book" changes. This would require some form of annotation. (The goal would be detail hiding, analogous to how Google...

    Feature requests

Feature: Color for chords I'd like the ability to use color in chord charts. This would help both in live play and in study. Four modes come to mind: * Encoding color within chord source text, for new charts that I create * Annotating color within existing charts (e.g. flag that Dbmaj7 in...
