    Odd rerading from ireal pro

I had the hard drive begin to fail on my laptop so I salvaged and moved my files to a new internal recently. Maybe the move confused things. I can't recall how long ago this issues arose as I hadn't used ireal full on again until recently. I also go an iPad not too long ago and loaded the 1300...

    Odd rerading from ireal pro

Thanks for the reply. I have several versions of tunes. I re harmonized garden in the rain and my version shows up plus an old one from I believe the 1300 list. However, they show up in no songlists. Also, there are 3 versions sitting in the trash. They are transposed versions of the one garden...

    Odd rerading from ireal pro

Hi all, Been a while..... Oddly, the original 1300 jazz tunes file on my ireal only contains 3 songs. It appears to be a search that was saved as the 3 songs contain similar words. What is a bit odd is that the tunes that were in the 1300 disappeared completely. Maybe operator error, however...

    Chart window size

Here is It's a wonderful world. I took the Doxy changes and fudged them: It's A Wonderful world - Johnny Watson It's alright with me: It's All Right With Me - Cole Porter I see the longer the chart in measures, the more it gets squished, which probably is the answer I am after. Wonderful...

    Chart window size

In theory, sure. On my Mac, some charts fill the given space to the margin (at it's max), as you explain. Got that. However these charts and their fonts are larger than some other charts which don't reach the margins and don't fill the same space..... those particular charts are not the full...

    Chart window size

From another thread: Seems that the size of the charts varies on certain devices? .....and also between charts inside the chart window on my MacBook. Hmmnmmmm..... Doc

    Chart window size

I am on a Mac. I know I can resize the window. Some charts take up the whole chart window the way I have it set. (and short charts get centered with lots of black on top and below). Some, however have 1/2 " to a inch black side border, when most charts have no black border on the sides. Is this...

    Chart window size

On the formatting, if you go to the 1300 tunes, and look at 500 miles high then skip down to After you've gone, you'll see what I mean. 500 miles high uses the complete width of the chart space. After you've gone has dead space on both sides. I'm just curious as to why.... Cheers, Doc

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

There are a bunch of PDF readers that musicians are using. I haven't jumped on one yet, but I checked out several of them online. Some are for Mac, some Android and some both. My upright player has 4score. This might help: http://appadvice.com/appguides/show/Sheet-Music-Readers-For-iPad This...

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

I figured that might be it. The cost of living in L.A. is high but nothing like New York (or should I say Manhattan, as that is really costly). Well, the rhythm tracks are respectable on ireal and I guess with a bit of fudging you could write intros and such. Is there anywhere to play down...

    Chart window size

Some charts cover the whole width of the page, yet others have larger margins, and sort of squashing the changes. I was wondering how and why that occurs. Perhaps for reading off a digital device maybe? I have found some charts that I would un-squash if I knew the command to do it. Doc Dosco

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

These days, all I need usually is a lyric sheet on vocal tunes. Funny thing is that I retain changes easliy, but it is hard to recall lyrics. (must be a different part of the brain - one that I burned out with hard living!) I may have posted here about my memory issues. I posted somewhere...

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

Doh! I just read the fine print on the 1996 edition and as Bob said, and I should have noted ...that the pages are not continuous for more to be added later, which it appears never happened. My printed copies are older than the 1996 edition too, but I did grab the newest PDF from online.... Doc

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

Damn good question. This has been my primary gig book for years and years. Mainly because it has *most* of the popular Great American Songbook standards and crooner tunes, and generally there are 2 tunes per page, with lyrics and decent changes. For 5 years I did wine tasting gigs all over the...

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

Here are the GGB changes in the original key. I'm Beginning To See The Light GGB - James - Ellington My only caveat is that the changes are a bit choppy in the ireal rhythm section. They run together smoothly on my instrument. I play a few changes differently, but this is a good basic chart...

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

Bob, I must say that the depth of ireal is impressive even with one page charts. The white text/black bg is a useful hint also. Eventually when I get ireal on an iPad I'll be back with questions, no doubt. In the meantime, it sits on my MacBook Pro, and is the best $20 ever spent on a music...

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

It's all cool. There are always preferred changes for tunes and not everyone's are the same. I look for charts that aren't too cluttered with extensions and heavy with transition type chords. I want a chart that plays well and that another musician can read off at a gig. I am not looking for...

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

Touchy, aren't we? Damn, yes I am a jazz player, and what people (including you) regard as 'vanilla' chords is subjective. I'm glad that you know what experienced piano players would and wouldn't play. I don't really care. A fake book is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. I like the GGB and...

The Great Gig Book (Blue Book)

I brought up this subject on the thread originally, as I had found some tunes (in my short time with the ireal program) that I didn't agree with on the changes. Having used the Great Gig Book (Blue Book) for a quite a while now, I am really happy with the changes on almost all the tunes...
