    Embellished Chords

I use iRP with the piano muted in the mixer (I'm a pianist myself) but I noticed a new feature: Embellished Chords, and tried it out with the piano sound turned on. I don't hear much of a difference between renderings with the embellished chord feature turned on or off. Maybe I'm missing...

    learning the chords

Johan, it depends of the context. Shell voicings (http://www.thejazzresource.com/shell_voicings.html for example) in the left hand are useful when you are playing by yourself. They provide the harmonic foundation for the melody played by the right hand, and eventually, for improvisations. Being...

    learning the chords

Johand, you might look at a copy of The Jazz Piano Book by Mark Levine. The early chapters go over chord voicing. I think you would benefit from this book. Later chapters cover jazz theory and lots of other jazz piano topics. When I was beginning my jazz piano journey, I found this book to be a...

    More Combination Styles

At present, there are three combination styles available, including Ballad Double Time Feel Latin/Swing Swing Two/Four I have requested several others in the past but am reposting in this new thread to elicit comments from other users. I think that the following would be of use to iRP users...

    Implemented Break-Tacet

Actually, it would be great if there were two kinds of tacets. One simply produces silence; the other would produce a rim shot on the beat with silence from the other instruments.

Makeing accompaniment stop for a solo interlude

There have been other requests for a tacet that would silence all instruments from chord chart playback; I found a thread about this topic from 2011. From my point of view, the ability to force a beat-by-beat tacet (similar to the beat-by-beat NC symbol) is the most pressing omission that needs...

Stella By Starlight - Victor Young

That's the way I use it on my solo gigs, Ray: iReal Pro + iPad + small amp (Roland CM-30) with an acoustic piano.

    Summer Love - Victor Young

You're welcome! I'm a Victor Young fan and I'm glad that you find the chord chart useful.

I Married An Angel - Richard Rogers

I smiled when I saw this request this morning. "I Married An Angel" is a sweet old tune I learned from a favorite fakebook over 50 years ago when I was in high school. I never played it on a gig (the other guys had never heard of it) and have never heard it performed until now. "I Married An...

The Way You Look Tonight - Jerome Kern

This is my edit of ryancorbitt's chord chart. Played once through, it mimics the original Sinatra version on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9ZGKALMMuc. The tempo is about 136 bpm. Way You Look Tonight (Sinatra version), The - Jerome Kern

The Way You Look Tonight - Jerome Kern

You obviously put a lot of effort into the chord chart, but it needs to be edited because there are mistakes: You need to insert a coda sign at the end of the bridge, you need to put a double bar in front of the first measure of the coda, and a measure repeat sign in the last measure of the tune...

    Summer Love - Victor Young

"Summer Love" is another unjustly forgotten song from the 1950s. Composed by Victor Young, it comes from the score of the 1952 film "The Star" starring Bette Davis and Sterling Hayden. Victor Young (1900–1956) was a child prodigy on the violin who was born in Chicago but spent most of his early...

Foot Hi-hat option for 2 and 4 click

Jack, I tried the 2-4 option. What I hear is a high-pitched click. A high-hat sound would be much more desirable. In contrast to androidus, I like the full drums sound in a live setting. It is a tribute to the developers of iRP that its flexibility can accomodate the aims of its many users.

    Extended Scale

Yup… In German-speaking countries and some others H is the designation for the note we call B natural, and B is the designation for the note we call B flat. Thus, no international body would use H to designate a new note.

    Folders ?

This is a request that I made back in January, 2013. I think it would really eliminate clutter on the playlist panel if this could be implemented.

    Italian songs

Thanks for posting this chart, Trumpetgirl. Last year I posted a number of charts of tunes popular in the Italian-American community, but I missed this one. A fine old song from the 1950s…

Changing the order of songs in a playlist

Markku, the ability to sort by hand charts in a playlist already is present in iRP. Simply go to the playlist that you want to sort, touch Edit at the upper right of the list, and you will see the name of each chart with a red dot to its left and a three-line icon to its right. To move a chart...
