What alteration does "alt" produce in Playback?

For example, does entering C7alt produce the sound C7#2#5 or C7b2b5 or ...? Or does it vary depending on the chord progression around it? In playing around with it, I think I'm hearing a flattened 2 and 5, but is that always true?

Yup, that did it for me. Thanks, both.

How to delete a style description from Edit-Info?

Well, see, that's the problem. Once I've created the custom style description, I can't figure out how to get into it again, either to correct it or to delete it. I appear to be stuck with that custom style description, typo and all. Yes, I can create a new and correct custom style description...

How to delete a style description from Edit-Info?

I am not asking about deleting an actual style--just a style description as you can make in Edit-Info-Custom. I tried to make a style description for the new style "Jazz - Swing Two/Four" but I made a typo I didn't notice untill after I had saved it. I know I can make a new, correct style...

"General setting to keep the tempo of a chord chart unchanged with a change of style." A big Ditto on this from me. Thanks.

    Jazz Practice Exercises

Are you trying to find a book of exercises for piano containing four-cord voicings (e.g., vamps, turnarounds) that preferably are rootless?

You Don't Know Me - Cindy Walker-Eddy Arnold

The use of the work "by" these days apparently means who recorded a famous version of it, not who actually wrote the song, which is what it is supposed to mean. I got hit with this the first time by a TV show that put up the graphic " 'House of the Rising Son' by the Animals." which particularly...

    Melody and Lyrics...???

I don't know where this "any two out of three" notion came from. Words by themselves are copyrightable. Music melodies by themselves are copyrightable. Chord progressions are not -- if they were, hundreds upon hundreds of blues and rock tunes would be in trouble.

Gotta ask: re turning a page by swiping . . .

Thanks, Massimo. Amazing! And I still wish I could play bass as well as your bass algorithm. So many times it seems to know what tune I'm entering. Really well done. Many thanks.

Didn't mean to ask an awkward question. Just curious.

some advice on how it works

No worries, Bob. I don't busk. I sing and play only at home for my cats. They ain't talkin', but they don't seem to mind it much. I only have one neighbor and he's a hundred yards away. If he should happen to hear me while walking past my house, he'll think it's my cats. I just like having the...

some advice on how it works

Using made-up abrev'tns and contr'x'tns I've been able to add usable lyrics to many complicated tunes using the Text feature. ("Begin the Beguine," "Cheek to Cheek," "C'est Si Bon," etc.) Of course, many tunes require no abbreviations at all. It's time consuming, but somewhat addictive, too. My...

Massimo, if you come up with something as good as your bass algorithm, it'll be great. I still can't get over how good your bass lines sound.

Exactly. Now it's easier just doing a new search for "Jobim" each time than to save each tune to Playlist one at a time. But it would be nice to make a Playlist out of a search, though, rather than having to do a search each time.

    Feature requests

To search MY songs and save the search results as a Playlist. E.g., I'd like to be able to simply search the songs I already have for "Antonio-Carlos Jobim" and then save the search results as a Jobim Playlist. (Not asking about searching the Forum, just the tunes I already have downloaded.)

    Jive Coffee - Peter Bernstein

I think I need to restudy the intro thread about using the Editor. It seems clear that certain features, like Coda, are designed to operate differently on the "Final" (noted in the upper right corner) repeat than they do in earlier repeats. Do I have that right?
