Is there a way to extend letter A for a longer solo?

Smiles And Smiles To Go - Larry Carlton revised. Need help with ending. Chart won't stop at Fermata at the end, it goes back to A. Changed style to Jazz even eighths.

After just listening to the melody, the 3rd and 4th bars are FM7/G. There are a couple of more that need to be altered. I'll listen to the whole chart and make suggestions. This is a groovy tune.

Are you changing the chord and melody in the 7th bar to G7/B? The melody note in the charts I've seen are all Bb. The YouTube recordings are Gmi for the 7th and 8th bars.

Sorry, it's too simplified. There are chords in the song that require a fifth or flatted fifth, particularly when the the melody is the fifth.

You need to remember that almost all the big name players play "re-harms. Bill, Chick and Herbie aren't looking at fake books. I would rather play their changes than those in any fake book. A lot of the re-harms in this forum are more the norm for working musicians than looking at a fakebook...
