    Jazz Practice Exercises

Here are five alternative changes for the first 8 bars of I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm patched together from various arrangments including Dean Martin's, The Mills Brothers', Ozzie Nelson's and Tony Bennett's. Season's Greetings. I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm (alt's) - Irving Berlin

Bullitt Theme - Lalo Shifrin (Request)

SO MANY rhythm style changes! Props to anyone who attempts to chart this on iReal! ;)

    Steely Dan songs

Pretty quick and simple to fix those few places where there's overlap. Just edit in the "N" and "S" (Normal and Small) commands over the offending chords. Easy peasy!

Thanks for posting. Handy to have this reference on file.

Same Road Same Reason - Acoustic Alchemy (Webb-Carmichael)

True, files can only be 1 page. The Player recognizes and plays 1 chord/1 space measures with no problem. I've used this to great advantage on many arrangements.

Adding lyrics directly to iReal Pro charts

I no longer use email for transferring so I won't be much help there. (My POP server doesn't get along at all with Apple Mail. Having to mail my files always annoyed me anyway. Using the Sandbox is probably your best solution for the time being. And, as for lyrics, iReal was never designed to...

Same Road Same Reason - Acoustic Alchemy (Webb-Carmichael)

If I had to label them, I'd call Acoustic Alchemy "smooth jazz" but that style setting would definitely be wrong for this piece. I might have used "Pop - Rock" if I wanted a bass line closer to the original. But the country beat makes this ole Texas boy smile. :)

Same Road Same Reason - Acoustic Alchemy (Webb-Carmichael)

No good or bad implied. I only said that to preface my comments. Whenever I post something, I like to give a heads-up so folks will know what to expect - but that's just me. The "default key" means what key your chart is written in. This will make things a lot easier if you ever want to...

Same Road Same Reason - Acoustic Alchemy (Webb-Carmichael)

Composed by Chick Webb and Hoagy Carmichael??? (bad joke) This is one of those charts obvious made for personal play-along, rather than for sharing and reading. So I'll just point out some technical loose ends. It's always a good practice to pair a double-bar with any section letters, and at...

Having trouble sending an iReal Pro chart from my iPhone to my Mac,

In my experience, the whoosh sound does not guarantee an email has been sent successfully.

Having trouble sending an iReal Pro chart from my iPhone to my Mac,

It's probably your email client server settings, rather than your iPhone or iReal. I know my mine won't let me send anything from my iPod Touch because it "does not allow relaying" and everything ends up dumped in the Outbox folder. Open your Mail app and see what's there. Also check for any...

    Feature requests

Woo Hoo!! A Sync button would be insanely great! Happy to know it's on a list. In the meantime, just to let folks know, I'm using two free app's to avoid the email transfer ordeal: DiskAid OSX on my iMac in conjunction with FileApp iOS on my iPod Touch. It only works one way (Mac to iPod) and...

Need help with an AABBB arrangement, please.

A somewhat off-topic footnote regarding barlines, for nimbleswitch and anyone else who's interested: The Player doesn't completely ignore double-barlines and repeat symbols - they will affect the drum pattern slightly. A random double-barline is usually followed by a cymbal crash on the first...

Need help with an AABBB arrangement, please.

This looks similar to your chart for C'est Si Bon (which didn't play as you described it for me either). I think this may be a programming quirk, since the repeats/endings play fine when the A and B structures are reversed (see attached): New Song 5 - Unknown Composer Let's hope the Admin's...

Legacy (CLOSED) How to add a 13th line (system) to a chord chart.

Oops, sorry: iPod Touch 4G iOS Version 6.1.5. And I still haven't updated to iRealPro yet, so I guess this info wasn't as helpful as I had hoped. All too true. 99% of the time, I just hit the Play button, occasionally glacing at the screen to remind me how many repeats are left. Long-time...

Legacy (CLOSED) How to add a 13th line (system) to a chord chart.

I looked at it on my iPod Touch. With the screen in portrait mode, it does squeeze all 13 lines into the display but, of course, it's smaller and harder to read than a "normal" chart. Generally, I'm all in favor of tricking the machine when possible AND when necessary. But I agree this...

Organizing songs, Playlists & Folders, and Importing

duh, I dunno.... how does all that magic stuff work with iTunes? ;) When iReal lets us bypass that pain-in-the-butt emailing step, it will truly be "PRO". P.S. I have a sneaking suspicion more than a few people are using this Forum as their "cloud" storage.

Organizing songs, Playlists & Folders, and Importing

Call me a cockeyed optimist, but I'm hoping someday there will be a "Sync" button on the OSX program we can click that instantly copies all our revisions to the iOS app... ...are you listening, Santa Claus?

    bass notes in jazzstyle

My ears agree with you, that does happen a bit too frequently. I believe this has been explained before as programming the Player to approximate a "live" performance, where the bassist might not always play the root on the downbeat. (I'm thankful the drums aren't programmed to play too loud and...
