Mack The Knife - Kurt Weill

Mack The Knife (Bobby Darin arr. with modulations)

Mack The Knife (Bb to Eb)

Settings: Medium Up Swing; Tempo = 160; Repeats [6]

Modulation: Open "Practice" controls and set "Key" to +1 (up 1/2 step)

Chart Notes: To make the modulations work correctly, the Verse ("V") is actually the first chorus. To make the tag end correctly, a 5/4 bar has been inserted so the final chord plays on what is actually beat 2 of the last bar.

About the chords, I used "edit song" in iReal and it worked... so how could the chords be incompatible with the player? It will help me to know.

Excellent work, thank you. How did you manage to get 13 staves onto one sheet please?

I think this only works for Android devices. The easiest way to do it is to copy the entire 12th row, then paste/insert at the beginning of the 12th row. It will then move the 12th row below which becomes the 13th row. But now you have the 12th and 13th rows identical. So before you copy, edit your bars in the 12th row as if it would be your last row. Keep in mind that you cannot edit the 13th row, so make sure you edit it first before copying and pasting.

It used to work for Apple devices too, but they took the capability away. So now I have a note on my wall that says “Count before editing” to remind me to take a screenshot of the chart before I edit; because if it’s 13 rows long and I edit, it’ll delete the last row if I decide to keep the edit vs cancelling the save.

I usually try to stick with 12 rows as much as possible. When a chart is really too long, I just use two pages to keep it easier to read. I only use the 13th row when I just need one extra row to fit the entire song into one single page.
