I put this together for one of my students to practice with & thought I'd share. Visually it's quite cluttered but it syncs up with the song recording (so well I'm betting they recorded to a click track 😀 )

iReal Pro for the win
I use iReal pro for my teaching -- a drummer & long-notes bass line are very effective for helping beginner guitarists understand tempo, structure & steadiness.
I teach beginner guitar students out of the Hal Leonard books and have created charts for the songs & exercises. Playing just bass & drums w/ bluetooth speaker helps them get harmonic structure as well an appreciation of downbeat & rhythm for strumming
